6th Grade Earth Quake Resistant Marshmallow Structures

On January 10th, 6th graders created earthquake resistant marshmallow structures on different surface materials such as sand, sand with a water/glue mixture, and plaster (that modeled a rock foundation). 

Students found that sturdier foundations were the best, but the groups that did succeed, in the structures built in sand, discovered that triangle supports worked the best.
